The following brief has been provided in hope to answer any questions you may have around Kinesiology.
What is Kinesiology?
Kinesiology is a holistic natural therapy which uses the tone response of a muscle (known as muscle monitoring) to access information about a persons well-being. This ‘Neuro-muscular Biofeedback’ received in muscle monitoring accesses your subconscious, your innate awareness.
Your innate self knows your mind, body and spirit and can be interpreted by your kinesiologist to determine the levels of stress held in your physical, mental, emotional, psychological and spiritual wellbeing. Using this same process to remove layers of stress from the person so that they may begin their self-healing journey.
Kinesiology combines Western physiological advancement, acupressure, the body's subtle energy systems and Mudra's to locate areas of stress in your physiology, mind and spirit.
Where did Kinesiology come from?
In the 1960’s research began in what was then called ‘Applied Kinesiology’ by Dr John Goodhart DC. Dr Goodheart learnt that by muscle monitoring a client you can find further information about their ailment. Following his ground breaking work many chiropractors embraced the technique with it’s effective methods in structural correction and began introducing Chinese Medicine Techniques such as meridians and acupressure into their practices.
There are so many types of Kinesiology, which one is for me?
Body Benefits covers a broad scope of kinesiology taught by Guy Bennet at the College of Kinesiology in Brisbane. All types of kinesiology can be beneficial. If you know what you want treated talk with your kinesiologist and ask if it is something they can treat. My best advice post this, would be to follow your instincts and choose from here. There are many different types of Kinesiology and all are beneficial. By accessing your innate your practitioner can decipher how they can best aid your healing process within their scope.
